With an unusual sunny weekend in the forecast I convinced my family to take a quick drive up to the Mount Vernon area for a trip to the tulip fields.  If you haven't been up there yet, I highly recommend it.  It really is amazing to see the thousands upon thousands of tulips blooming. 

If you do decide to go, be sure to go early.  We were there just after sunrise and by the time we left at about 8:00 am, there was already a mild back-up on I-5!

Baby Brody Michael was born on October 3rd, 2015.  He is such a lucky little guy because there are SO many people who already love him - particularly his big sister!  One of the things I love about hospital newborn photography is being able to witness and capture everyone's reaction to the new baby.  I love the looks of wonder and authentic emotion that everyone seems to have when holding a tiny newborn.  The first couple of days of life are like no other.

I just love natural photos of tiny little newborn babies.  When a new mom cuddles up with her baby and I get to capture it, I feel like I'm part of something truly special.  This session also included a new big brother and although he was a typical toddler and a bit camera shy, he sure did love to look in on his new baby brother. 

I don't take many senior photography sessions but this one was special because I've known Kelsi since she was just around 4 or 5 years old!  I'm so glad that I had the chance too because I had so much fun.  Kelsi was great - she was super comfortable in front of the camera and she loved trying new things.  She's a beautiful girl, both inside and out and I'm looking forward to seeing her tackle the world in the next few years!

I met the Hughes family and their precious little girl (seriously...check out those ringlets) last fall.  I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them for an extended family session.  So I was thrilled when I received an email from them asking about a newborn session.  I didn't even know they were pregnant so it was such a nice surprise!  It's also so nice to be able to connect with other new Mom's.  It's almost like there is an instant sisterhood of sorts.   I know all about the ups and the downs of those first few weeks....and just how fast it all goes by!
