Session Type: Teen Portraits
I met this young teen a few years ago while creating school portraits. I only had the pleasure of creating a school portrait of her for one year because the next year she transferred to a new school. So when Mom contacted me and said she missed my signature black background school portrait, I was so excited to see her again and see how much she had grown!
I was also excited because at this age it is so easy for us parents to get caught up with all that life brings when we have children who are junior high and early high school age. We all know that this age is tough for everyone (the child and the parent). We sometimes forget to take a break and celebrate and document this age too. In just a few short years, she will be ready for her senior pictures (what!). But I guarantee that in those short years, she will have changed into a different person….she will look different, she will act a little different, her smile or the way she reacts in front of others may even be different. But you as a parent will always remember her - and portraits are a great way to keep that memory alive!
This age is also SO full of doubts about ourselves - she wasn’t super excited about coming in for portraits but after a couple of minutes she warmed up and her personality shined! I later learned that she loved the experience and the pictures. And I love that I was able to create something that made her feel good about herself!
Are you interested in your portrait session for your children? I’d love to chat!
