Milestone Mini Session Information

Session Location

Lincoln & Lucy Photography Studio

2804 Grand Avenue #207

Everett, WA 98201

Parking and Directions

The studio is located in the Everett Public Market building on the corner of Grand and California Avenue.  There is plenty of free street parking near the building so park wherever is most convenient.  When you enter the building – enter through the door with the awning that says “Holistic Health Clinic” (ignore that part – that is just another business in the building).  When you enter the building, you are already on the second floor – do NOT go up the stairs.  Walk straight down the hallway and turn left.  You will see my suite on the right-hand side.

Session Info

TIMING:

Because this is a mini session – timing is very important (sessions are booked back-to-back).  Be sure to arrive on time for your session.  If you arrive late, your session may not be extended and you may lose some of your session time (and I really don’t want that to happen!).

STUDIO SPACE:

My studio space is small – if at all possible, please only bring children who will be photographed and parents.

SESSION FLOW:

Your session is scheduled for approximately 30-40 minutes.  The goal of the session is to get a few different poses and looks for you to choose from.  We will start with a cream backdrop and then move on to your chosen color - black, grey or dark brown.

Some children are a little more comfortable than others in front of the camera.  I will try my best to get as much variety (and smiles) as possible!

CLOTHING:

  • Dress your child in the outfit you want them to be photographed in.

  • Extra outfits are a good idea if you want more variety in your image gallery.  We typically have time for one clothing change.

  • Unless you really want their shoes to be in the pictures, most children will be photographed barefoot.

  • Avoid neon colors and anything with large logos on it.

  • Coordinate with the backdrop color.

    • Black Background - cream, off-white and bright/bold colors stand out well on black. Avoid black, navy and other dark colors with this background (because they blend in).

    • Cream Background - I love dark colors (like black) and light colors (like white or pastel) with the cream background.

    • Grey Background - grey is a great neutral color and most colors look good against it. Black and white look good too! Avoid solid grey and brown clothing with this background.

    • Dark Brown Background - Black, white, off-white and cream pair well with this color.

  • Textures and patterns look great against the solid color background.

  • Solid color onesies and cute cloth diapers work great for babies.

PROPS:

Does your child have a special stuffed animal or blanket? Bring it along! These precious items can not only help calm your child if they are nervous but they can really help to tell the “story” of their current age.

AFTER YOUR SESSION:

A few days after your session, you will receive an email from me with a link to your online proofing gallery! Your session fee includes 3 digital images (or more if you chose the add-on option). You will be able to choose your favorite images right from the gallery. If you would like to order prints, albums or the keepsake box, you will have that option within your gallery too.
