Did you know that there is a Kangaroo farm in Snohomish County?  I remember seeing the sign a few years ago but really I had no idea that it was such a cool place and it made a great location for Nolan's 2nd birthday party.  I brought my own little man to the party and he can't stop talking about all of the animals he got to see and pet (yes you get to pet a Kangaroo)!

What I like best about event photography is the fact that YOU get to be in the pictures too.  Think about how many times you haven't been able to fully enjoy the party because you were also trying to take pictures at the same time.  One of the things that all of us are most guilty of these days is living behind our electronic device.   When you hire a photographer, you get to be a part of the fun, part of all of the little moments too.

Session Type:  Family Photography

This next session is another from last Fall that I'm finally blogging about.  We had such a great time (seriously aren't these kiddos adorable?) and we got pretty lucky on this November morning - Mother Nature gave us about 10 minutes of rain free time outside!

What I like most about this session is the fact that we were able to start outside their family home to get some traditional family portraits and then we finished inside their home for a few authentic family moments.

I am so late on this blog post but I figure it's better late than never!  Last Fall I offered family mini sessions for the very first time.  It was one of those fabulous fall days in Snohomish where the sun was out but there was still a little bit of fall crispness in the air.  The pumpkins, dahlias and fall colors were a perfect backdrop for the photo sessions.  Thank you to everyone that came out.  I had such a great time that I definitely plan to offer mini sessions again in the future.

A couple of years ago I started and finished a 365 day project.  Making the commitment to take and edit at least one picture every day for a year can be a daunting and sometimes exhausting endeavor however it is so worth it.  Some of my favorite images would never have been taken if I didn't force myself to pick up my camera.  After a year and half break I decided to complete another 365 project (well 366 this year because it's leap year).  So far I'm loving the project again.   Here are some of my favorites from January, February and March.

When I got the email from Allison at The Party Dialect about her son's second birthday party I was super excited.  I love her blog and her Etsy store and I knew that the party was going to full of amazing details.  I was definitely not disappointed.  The train themed party was styled perfectly and you could tell that the party guests were just as impressed as I was! 

My favorite details included the custom Leutner Railways logo, the bright water colored cake and invitations, the personalized favor bags and the different food "stations" - the filling station, the libation station and the hydration station (so creative).   And check out those giant letter balloons!  I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering some of those for my own kiddos birthday later this year!
